Mediatek Helio P40 Exposure: 12 nanometer six core design, support for artificial intelligence

According to available information Mediatek is planning to release a new six core CPU. It should be called Helio P40, and it will be based on TSMC 12-nanometer process: dual-core A73 + quad-core A53.

According to MediaTek’s product planning, Helio P40 is mainly for high-end market. Actually it is rival of Snapdragon 600 series. Helio P40 is expected to be launched by the first half of next year, and therefore OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, and other are potential users.

Also according to the Xiaomi industry investment partner @ Pan Jiutang news, MediaTek Helio P40 chip code-named “P70”, also based on TSMC 12-nanometer process. The Helio P40 / P70 will be available next year and will provide artificial intelligence support for the terminal.
